Capital City University Entry Requirements

ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS INTO CAPITAL CITY UNIVERSITY, KANO

Admission into Capital City University, Kano shall be open to candidates with the requisite qualifications and subject to written and/or oral examination as the proposed University may determine. Admission into the University shall be open to all irrespective of religion, ethnic group, gender, creed and disability. All applicants for admission into Capital City University shall have attained 16 years of age.

UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES

The admission requirements into the undergraduate programmes of Capital City University shall be as follows:

  1. all admissions into the proposed University shall be through the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB);
  2. for admission to 100 Level (via UTME), candidates must: obtain five (5) credits at SSCE (or equivalent) in relevant subjects at not more than 2 sittings including credit passes in English and Mathematics; and attain acceptable points in UTME in relevant subjects;
  • for admission by direct entry (200 Level), candidates shall, in addition to having five (5) SSCE credits, obtain at least two (2) A’ level (or its equivalent) passes in relevant subjects, or possess ND with credit passes, or possess a good first degree in another field as the case may be;
  1. credit passes in English Language and Mathematics shall be compulsory for admission into most courses;
  2. those who meet the requirements for admission shall be subjected to screening interview to be conducted by the University; and
  3. the University shall not accept transfer students until after at least the first two years of its existence with a minimum of 1.75 CGPA from their previous university.

1)   Two ‘A’ level/IJMB passes in Mathematics and any one of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography and Geology.

2)   NCE Mathematics and any of Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Geography Geology and Computer Science.

Five ‘O’ level credit passes in English Language, Mathematics and Physics and two other subjects two of which must be sciences(Chemistry ,Physics Biology, and Geography), Computer Science/Data Processing.
