IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT: SCREENING EXERCISE AND ORIENTATION FOR NEW STUDENTS

Dear new students and Parents,
This is to inform you that screening and orientation exercise for New/Fresh students will commence on Monday 9th – Saturday 14th January, 2023 at Dawaki and Civic Centre Campuses. The New/Fresh 100 level students are expected to report at the University campuses stated above to undertake the final stage of their registration while lectures commence on Monday 16th January, 2023.
The activities for the period 9th – 14th January, 2023 are as follows:
i) Student report to their respective Faculties/Departments for screening exercise (9th & 10th January 2023)
ii) correction of online courses registration (11th & 12th January 2023)
iii) Students Orientation Exercise (13th & 14th January 2023)

The sequence of the exercise will be: student will at first go for screening, then correction of online course registration, and finally orientation exercise.
The following original documents and credentials are to be presented for screening exercise including 2 photocopies of each:
i. JAMB & CCUK Admission letters.
ii. UTME Result.
iii. SSCE (WAEC, NECO or NBTE).
iv. Tuition Fees & other charges Payment receipts.
vi. Course Registration (Print out)
vii. Birth Certificate/Statutory Age Declaration
viii. Two Passport size photographs

NATIONAL UNIVERSITIES COMMISSION (NUC) RESOURCE VERIFICATION AT CIVIC CENTER CAMPUS

RESOURCE VERIFICATION VISIT TO THE ACADEMIC UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAMMES IN THE COLLEGE OF MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL SCIENCES BY THE NATIONAL UNIVERSITIES COMMISSION (NUC) AT CAPITAL CITY UNIVERSITY, KANO

In ensuring that CCUK complies with NUC standards for mounting new Academic Programs, the University invited the regulatory body to asses its preparation to establish the College of Management and Social Sciences, 6 Academic Departments, and 13 Academic Programmes. NUC accepted the invitation of CCU and constituted a visitation team of Five Professors and Experts to conduct the resource verification exercise.

The team successfully conducted the visitation on Thursday, 4th – Friday 5th August 2022. The Assessment was successfully carried out with both parties excited and confident that the expected outcome of the exercise would allow CCU to mount the Additional 13 Academic Programmes in the new college at Civic Center Campus. These Programmes include:

CONSTITUTION OF TECHNICAL COMMITTEE FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF CURRICULUM FOR MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL SCIENCES PROGRAMMES AND ESTABLISHMENT OF MANAGEMENT AND SOCIAL SCIENCES COLLEGE

The management of Capital City University, led by Vice-Chancellor Sadiq Z. Abubakar, attended the constitution of the Technical Committee on the establishment of Capital City University College of Management and Social Sciences, Chaired by Prof. Badayi M. Sani on 12th April 2022.

The College will Commence activities with 13 Academic programs under the departments of Accounting and Finance, Business Management, Criminology and Security Studies, Hospitality and Tourism Management, Mass Communication and Political Sciences.

About CCUK

Capital City University Kano plans to take off with the Faculty of Science & Computing. There will be six (6) Departments that will collectively offer twelve (12) degree programmes. In designing the take off programmes, the University has prioritized addressing national skills gap, employability, and programmes attractiveness.
